Failure to Communicate
Talk
In our work and organizations it's important to have a shared understanding of anything we communicate about. Our success often depends on it.
However, I suspect we often behave as if we have understood what has been communicated to us when that understanding doesn't actually exist. And even worse, when we are the one trying to communicate a message, we often believe that everyone else understands our meaning and intention when it just hasn't happened.
