When we're children, we think our parents know everything, see everything, can do everything! But as we grow up, we eventually realize they are human: sometimes fallible, sometimes overwhelmed, or even tired!

In the world of technology, I faced the same illusion - the idea that everyone perfectly masters their domain. However, much like with my parents, reality caught up with me, and I wondered, out of anger and disillusionment, if everyone is fundamentally incompetent.

Following this awareness, I realized that no, people are in fact not fundamentally incompetent, but many conceal their difficulties out of fear. Fear of failure, fear of judgment, fear for their job, or simply the fear of looking foolish. This fear hinders their individual and group progress. That's where I discovered psychological safety - creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable to fail and learn from mistakes.
