Learning from how science and philosophy progress

We know things about how to develop software, but we don’t know enough. We learn new things too slowly and too erratically. This talk will use the history of science and philosophy to make suggestions about how we can do better. These ideas aren’t abstract - "somebody should do this thing someday". If the talk is successful, we’ll start work on them soon, with the aim of improving the average practitioner's life in the near term.
